Cody and I celebrated are fifth anniversary at the beginning of May. We were thinking how nice it would be to go stay somewhere just the two of us for a night (something we've never done) We were so lucky to have my parents come down and watch the kids for us. We just stayed in Salt Lake but we really enjoyed ourselves. We got to see the beautiful flowers at temple square and had dinner and went through a session at the temple. I've never been through the Salt Lake Temple so that was definitely a treat for me. It was a little short-lived because of shady stand-by seats on the airlines that my parents had to make sure they got back home to work so we didn't really get to visit my parents. But I am still really grateful they came and it was such a nice experience.
Oh also, I have to share this one story. Our car got broken into at our hotel during the night! Everything from the glove box was thrown all over the seats! and the trunk was a mess. Nothing was stolen. The thief must have been disappointed to find nothing of value in our little ford Taurus! Except the car itself which we are grateful was NOT stolen! :)
The Hubby and I celebrated FOUR years of marriage a couple of weeks ago.
I Surprised him with this....
Four Balloons to represent four years of marriage (I saw something similar on Pinterest)
Tied to each balloon was a card with a picture of us from that year of marriage (above- year 3) and an outline of the year ... The ups, and yes, some of the downs to those years (mostly if those downs brought us closer together)
And a candy bar... of coarse.
Then there was a fifth balloon (the black and white one) to represent our coming year of marriage with a card expressing my love and what I hope for the future.
And a present!
Of coarse right after I surprised Cody with this our two children woke up crying from their naps with fevers...
So sad! So we rented a movie and ate chips with them for awhile. Luckily they went to bed pretty good so we were able to enjoy a lovely evening of yummy take out and Italian Sodas {YUM}. Cody was in charge of all of the food and made me breakfast in the morning and bought me Pride and Prejudice (With Kiera Knightley) and a new comforter (well, once I finally pick one out...I've been dying for a new comforter for so long)
Earlier in the day I had bought Twilight and Romeo and Juliet (books) from our goodwill and we 'made' love notes to each other and idea I saw here. Crossing out words so only the certain words were exposed to compile a love note. That made us really think but they turned out pretty funny (Even funnier since we HATE both of those stories!)
I was born and raised in a great town and I have never been to the windmills! Crazy. I was telling Cody as we were driving here I wanted to go to them because... well, we're going to be here for a bit. So last night Cody took me on a great date. He packed a picnic with food we love and took me to the windmills! I LOVED it, I think I've heard somewhere that some people didn't like the windmills because they would ruin the landscape, but I love them, I think they look almost haunting from far away. Anyways, we took a bunch of pictures just for fun and laid on a blanket and just talked! It was wonderful.
and Counting!
We celebrated our 2nd year anniversary Monday.
Cody was in charge of the activity and I was in charge of dinner. Emilee was gracious and watched Jojo for us while we went and saw Diary of Wimpy Kid. Then we went home. by that time is was Jojo's bedtime so we had dinner alone. There is an oblong table that came with the apartment which is too big for just two people so I pulled out our table from the van and set it up in the living room and got out our nicer dishes and glasses and napkins. and we lit candles and dimmed the lights. In the kitchen we made Lasagna Pizza from our pizza recipe book - in which it tells you how to toss pizza dough... which we did! We had Cesar salad and bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar dip (like from Macaroni grill.... not as good but still good) sparkling cider and cream pie fore dessert. It was really nice. Although the oven kind of smoked and set off the fire alarm a couple of times. ^_^
Cody got a nice new watch for cheap, and he got me Anne of Green Gables on DVD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ahhhhhhhhhh I LOVE IT! I've wanted it ever since I saw it, which, I can't remember when I didn't know about it. so... that's a long time.
It's been a wonderful two years. And even though it really isn't that long a time (and didn't feel that long either) It seems like I know so much more about Cody and I love him soooo much more. I cant imagine what 10 years will be like. I'm so glad I found Cody! He's a wonderful Husband and my perfect match.
