Pregnancy Killed the Bucket List

Sad but true.
We had been trying to get pregnant for a while. The timing was perfect to put me out of commission for the summer. I'm super excited to be pregnant but this morning sickness has really laid me to bed!
So the Summer Bucket List is on back burner for now. I'm not going to say dead because we may actually be able to get some more of them done still.
I am nervous for Fourth of July celebrations though. I don't want my sickness to keep us from enjoying the summer holiday.

Splash Pad

There are only two in town! which considering how big this place is and how congested with little ones seems completely weird to me. And they aren't like the ones from home either. But the kids still LOVED it.
Even with them slipping and falling tons. The ground is a little too slick if you ask me. Just see how Rylee got knocked over! The injustice! (No, the boy was nice... he did ask if Rylee was okay)
Rylee had to warm up to it and eventually sat with us. Joseph loved it and was running all over the place!

so many nice pictures of their back sides.

Rylee's Two

Rylee turned two last Friday.
Time has really flown by.
A little over a year ago I was still skeptical about weather she was actually a red head or if it was too good to be true! She is our beautiful girl.
She loves food! I swear she eats more then Joseph ever did.
She loves her baby dolls - she loves to cuddle them and kiss them and she even puts them in her crib turns out the lights turns on the radio and shuts the door shushing us as she does so.
She loves doggies - Like stuffed animal dogs not real ones. Nana and Papa bought her a little one when they watched them for our anniversary and she has to carry it everywhere.
She loves to sing and dance and she has one of the silliest and most confident walks I've ever seen.
She is very independent - Where Joseph liked to have things done for him, she....does not.
She has a temper to match her hair.
She can say prayers (although she just says our names and Jesus over and over...but it's cute)
She loves people and is so friendly to complete strangers. She yells "hi" to EVERYONE!
She is one the messiest kids in the world....hands down!
I just asked Jojo what he likes about his sister. He says that she is funny, and she likes pizza, and is a good friend!
She is still trying to say more words and say them clearly. This morning she said to Cody "I'm going to get you!"
She is growing. 95% in weight (See heavier then she looks) 85% for height, and 45% for head. At least her head is smaller ;).
I wonder if she will be taller then Joseph because he was in the 60% for height and she has always seemed tall to me.
I am so glad we have Rylee in our lives. I love having her personality around. She is so cuddly and it makes me so happy. She has made Cody a little more sensitive too and she loves her daddy so much.

Library Book Festival

We went to our libraries book festival. It was pretty fun! There were games and a puppet show and even two live owls. The screech owl was so cute! The kids made crowns and wands got their faces painted and had there fortunes read.

Joseph's "You will experience beauty in this world, but only after you eat your vegetables."
Rylee's "Don't eat candy from off the floor."

I couldn't believe Rylee's it was so funny, especially since she did try that earlier in the day!
There was a little two person band playing medieval music and some famous illustrators doing personalized drawings for free (the Line was super huge so we didn't get one)

And coolest of all - the author of one of my favorite books growing up was there signing her Books.
Gail Carson Levine author of Ella Enchanted. And I had her sign my copy!

This sweet volunteer helped Joseph with the Maypole. I was doing it with him but Rylee was being really clingy and wanted me to hold her. You should know that Rylee is quite a bit heavier then she looks and holding her with one arm after I had already been holding her all day was very difficult) So I tried putting her down but she freaked out and so this lady said she would take Joseph around. And Cody wasn't just ignoring us. He was being my hero and running home to get my copy of Ella Enchanted to be signed!

He is just so cute!

He wanted me to get a picture of his spider on his arm.

Rylee's face paint. I couldn't even get he far enough a way from me to get a good picture of her with her crown and wand. She has gotten soooooo clingy!

Aquarium and Robles Family

Nathan and Nina and  kids came to visit a week and a half ago. I was very bad and didn't take a lot of pictures.
We were so glad to have them come though, We love it when family comes to visit...*nudge nudge - to anyone who wants to come* I know we aren't the most energetic and busy kind but we still love to see our family...since we are so deprived of family living near us! (Seriously, though, someone needs to move here....and soon!) Anyways back to Robles Ruckus!
We let all the kids sleep in one room, which I am seriously wondering what made us so crazy to think that would work! No, the kids had a lot of fun... maybe too much fun, they had a hard time going to sleep. SO much so that both Joseph and Rylee fell asleep in their classes on Sunday! Rylee curled up in a corner in Nursery and Joesph asleep in Primary exercises with only half of his body on the chair  The primary president said she took a picture...I need to get it from her! I digress again.
We adults had a good time while the kids were shut away at night just talking (my favorite) and watching silliness on the computer and eating too much junk food while trying to keep it a secret from the kids so we wouldn't have to share.
The highlight for sure was the Aquarium (check off a summer bucket list!). This is actually the only time I took pictures. We got to the aquarium and realized we couldn't take in outside food or drink. It was a cold day so we took Nathan and Nina's van to a corner of the parking lot and took out all the chairs and ate inside the van! Fun memory!
I'm am super excited for next year too because the Aquarium will be moving to a new location and a better building that was actually made for an aquarium (Where it's at now used to be a grocery store) But it was still really nice actually.
The first thing we saw was the sharks... the boys loved that. And we got to pet some fish. The penguins were cute! And I got a kick out of the eel tank... they had two silver balls that if you touch them you would get an idea of what it was like to be shocked by an eel. or you could also hold hands with someone and make a circuit of electricity.
We also shot balloons with a sling shot and we took family pictures on Sunday morning before they left.
Cody is in the process of editing them. It wasn't the best time to take pictures. We were all squinting in the sun. And I'm not sure we found the greatest spot to take pictures. Although Nathan and Nina's family pictures turned out cute and Nathan and Nina took couples pictures and they are just so darn cute together they must have practice at getting their pictures together because they turned out so cute! Ours..not so much. Not because of Nathan (who took our pictures) but because of the sun and I really didn't like what we were wearing. lame I know. But so it is. We were sad to see them leave (You didn't even say goodbye!:() it's okay we forgive you. And we hope we can get together again soon

Look out!

SHARKS!

I didn't realize that Emperors were so big!

My Summer Bucket List

Not as big as the family one.
Just things I can do after the kids go to bed.

1. Read only Newbery Award Winning Books
*** Okay I'm being kind of lame and changing this. As good as I'm sure these books are I have some across a bunch of books I really want to read more. Three of which being Stephanie Fowers' new 'Twisted Tales' trilogy books.

{Here is the list of all the Newbery Award Winning Books}

2. Make a Quilt!

{Maybe it's a little too ambisous for a first quilt. I want to try though. It will be our picnic quilt}

3. Finish my Etsy Products
Flannel Crib Sheet : Dinosaurs on Brown
{That's right! I haven't completely abandoned my shop! I still have fabric and I still have ideas that I am excited about. So I can get those done and up on my shop!}

4. 30 day Photography Challenge

{Pinned this lovely from Shaylee. I really want to do this}

5. Take an Exercise Class

{Yeah...Probably the thing I am least interested in but I know I should. If I get pregnant then I want to sign up for a pregnancy water aerobics class (I'm more excited about that, I just need to get pregnant already!}

6. Sewing Projects (General)
Have you Seen my three Pinterest boards dedicated to sewing? (I'm a little OCD when it some to organization)
Yeah...pretty much any of these projects that fit my fancy....because now I have the time!

{Adult Sewing Projects}

{Home Sewing Projects}

{Kid Sewing Projects}

7. More exciting Dates with Cody

Just because it's summer so we can do more! {Pinterest}

I need to add one more...
8. Do Family History

I don't have a specific number of names to do but I think this is something else I really should be doing right now.

Our 2013 Summer Bucket List

So, I've made a summer bucket list for our family (Summer 'officially' starts for me when school is out!).... This hasn't helped with my procrastination in school...now I really can't wait until school is over.
Just two and half more weeks!
There are things like picnics, movies, etc which we do a lot of in the summer anyways that I didn't add to the list. And there are some things that we have always wanted to do and just haven't....like making our own applesauce or going to the aquarium. I am really excited for summer this year. I hope I can appreciate it a little more this year. Since I have been so busy with school all winter long and now I can relax a bit and just enjoy the moment. Last summer was fun...but I was also pretty low (messed up hormones....I blame the birth control) Although, if I end up getting pregnant I could also just feel sick the whole summer. :( Oh well. I think it will be good memories for our kids.
